Vera W. Propp was born in Germany and emigrated to the United States with her parents as a young child in 1938. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri; graduated from Radcliffe; and then moved to Albany, New York with her husband, Richard Propp, M.D. Vera taught in the Albany public schools for twenty-five years and is now a full time writer of children’s books. She has two adult children and two grandchildren. Her first book When the Soldiers Were Gone, was published in 1999. |
